Prosperiti and The Udaiti Foundation are hosting a virtual panel discussion on ‘Women, Work, and Regulation in India’ on Wednesday, 10 July 2024 from 4:30-6:00 PM (IST).
India’s female labour force participation at 27.4% is one of the lowest rates among emerging economies. There are over 250 + Indian regulations that limit women's employment options. These regulations increase the cost of employing women and deter employers from hiring female workers. This panel discussion aims to highlight why legal restrictions on female workers matter, the cost of such regulations, and international comparison to understand the distance Indian regulations are yet to cover.
